Let's Get This (Blog) Party Started
All right, let's give a big welcome to ME, as I join the world of real estate-related blogging! And...crickets. This is my first post, after all. (Second post though, I expect you all to pretty much throw me a Rennie Sarchett, Realtor-themed parade.)
As my description states, I am here to share life and realty as it pertains to me and the community of the Cedar Rapids/Corridor area. I have lived in this city since 2003, along with my husband, three kids, and a small menagerie of pets. While I admittedly do love my "lazy time" with a good book and a cup of coffee, I also love to be active and have innate knowledge of whatever is happening in my life. What better way to do that than volunteering? So...we found a church nearby, I got my massage therapy license, my kids started school, and I rediscovered my love for the performing arts-and all of those poor institutions since then have had to put up with my presence. I found that helping out in all of those capacities brought me into touch with amazing new friends, and connected me with the inner workings of an area, that to be quite honest, was not even my first choice in making a home. Obviously, my mind changed on that last point! While real estate was always an interest of mine, I always found an excuse to put off that career-my kids were too young, the time would be hard to manage, etc. Fast forward to a day where my older two kids were in high school. I looked at my husband and said "all right, that's it. I'm going for real estate. If I don't do it now, I'll never do it." After that statement, I never looked back.
To me, being a Realtor is more than just finding people properties. Whether it's your home or your place of business, this purchase represents a safe place, a haven for your dream. To help a client through this often confusing and stressful process brings me such joy and satisfaction that most of the time, I don't think of it as a "job". My day to day routine with my brokerage, Keller Williams, confirms that view every day. When you work with me, you get a team of well over 100 real estate professionals behind me to make sure that I have all the answers and options that you may ever need. My goal is to finish each transaction with happy clients who are then going to want to tell everyone they know about their exceptional service. I'm happy to have you all along for the ride!
